Vista 64 Install Fails just after initial file load

When I attemp to boot using the DVD created from the downloaded ISO image I
get a message which says " Windows is loading files", this is followed with a
Microsoft copyright 2006 logo with a progress bar. The progress indicator
makes two passes, the lights on the keyboard flash and that's all folks.

My Current config:-
Systemax Desktop with AMD K8-800T Mobo & AMD 64 Athlon 3200+ w/HT
200 GB Ultra ATA HD
250 GB Western Digital SATA Drive
( this where the partition will be / is for Vista)
NVidia Geoforce 6200 Diplay Card
Logitech Mouse & Keyboard ( Non Wireless, Non USB)

Ran the 32 bit Vista advisor and result was
"Will run Windows Vista"

Noted that a couple of software items may not work correctly after install
but thats all.

Note:- The advisor does not work in XP64 bit O/S.

Trouble shooting tried:-
Download and create 2nd copy of the Vista 64 ISO Image using a different PC.
Same result
Disconnected C drive - Same result
Disconnect Sata Drive - Same result

Now I have run out of Ideas. Can anyone help? Please!

My suggestion for your problem would be, set up a Windows XP with all the
latest updates and try an upgrade installation. It takes an awful lot of time
but that's what did the deal for me. Had the same problem before and every of
my attempts was useless, since I tried the upgrade installation, which was
supposed to be the last attempt before surrendering. But finally it worked
out, and now Im using Windows Vista RC1 successfully ;-)

Martin, thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately it did not work.

This is a 64 bit CPU and I have tried to install vista into a clean partiton
on the SATA drive without any success at all.

I would rather not "Upgrade" but do a clean install.

I will continue to explore more avenues.

Thanks again for your response.

This isn't an option with the 64 bit version of RC1. Update is disabled.
Only clean installs are allowed.

I have close to the same setup and the ONLY way I was able to get Vista
installed was to unplug WD 200 or disable that whole channel in BIOS. But
even after installing Vista I still have to keep WD disbled or unpluged or
else Vista locks up..
