Is it just my bad luck or is it common? I have used Windows Update and
Office Update sites over the last week and every time I have I've got a host
of viruses! From Mamu, Randex and others. is someone targeting the
Microsoft sites. Each time I get rid of them and then go on the Update site
I seem to get another. I'm running AVG and Norton

Thought so no more updates for me for a while till they get their act
together. What's the point of telling us to update security patches when in
doing so we become infected???????

I have been downloading updates from WindowsUpdate for 4
fours now and have never once had a virus from an update.
Maybe before you blame MS you should fully consider what
where you are getting the updates from and if it is
possible that the virus is comming from somewhere else.

Some virus's trick your computer on both Windows Update
and Live Update for NAV. You think you are getting
updates from Microsoft when in truth you are actually
downloading them from some server the hacker has set up.

Try going directly to Symantec's site and downloading the
latest virus definitions, and then scan your computer.
Use their removal tools for any virus that you have. If
that doesn't work download the updates at the download
center.

My opinion is you got a virus of some kind.
