Virus that forces win2000 to reboot once finishing splash screen

Is anyone aware of a specific virus that forces windows
to enter a continous reboot loop once the initial splash
screen is finished????

Ive read about two viruses the reboot and blaster worm
that seems like it may force this behaivor when infected,
however im not too sure.

Lastly, since windows will never start in order to run a
virus scan with symantec, any ideas on how I can attempt
to clean my system short of an entire os re-install??

Thanks

Hi Kevin,

It's really better, if you'd saying "My computer is in a boot loop"?
What should I do?

Boot into Safe Mode
When computer is first turned on it "posts"
Keep looking at the lower right of the monitor until you see "F8"
Tap F8
Choose Safe mode
<enter>

Click Start
Settings
Control Panel
System
Advanced tab
Uncheck "Automatically reboot"
Reboot and post the BSOD
BSOD=Blue Screen Of Death

Kevin,
In Google look up Blast Worm
Get Symantec's fix SHEET
Go by it line for line and do all it says or it will return
