Virus Scan uninstall

attilathehun1 I'm trying to run a virus scan 3.1 virus tools and I'm having
problems with McAfee Virus Scan already on the PC. I'm trying to uninstall
McAfee, but I don't see it in Add/Remove Programs or using the Start Menu and
All Programs and McAfee isn't there either. Where can I find McAfee Virus
Scan and remove it so I can run Virus Tools 3.1 that I've already purchased
to fix a virus that's infected my PC laptop. Well, I guess I uninstalled
McAfee Virus Scan because now PC Tools 3.1 Virus Scan is scanning the laptop
as I'm writing this. After the Scan is over with and is detected and wiped
clean, should I then run a registry scan next?
Thanks,
attilathehun1

What exactly is your question? I recommend not running a registry cleaner.
In this case I have no idea what registry scan you're talking about.

I think you'll find that the hijackware you're trying to find & remove using
Virus Tools 3 has hidden and disabled VirusScan. Furthermore, it's probably
interfering with the install of Virus Tools 3.

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
