Reformatting of HDD is the preferred course of action!

"The only way to clean a compromised system is to flatten and rebuild.
That¢s right. If you have a system that has been completely compromised,
the only thing you can do is to flatten the system (reformat the system
disk) and rebuild it from scratch (re-install Windows and your
applications)..."

Can you Restore your System to an earlier date?
Does your Antiviruys subscription is cureent?
If it is n't try to download this software and install it on your machine.
On the installation you will be represented with an option to run a scan on
Boot up, please say YES to this and reboot your machine.
avast! 4 Home - English version (length 29.81 MB)
http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe
Yes I know you can't connect to the internet, but try to download it on a
Flash stick/CD and install it.

If after the scan you can't connect to the internet try this procedure:
Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine, does it connect?

If it does, try to go through these cleaning steps:
1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the Non/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit .
How to manage Add-Ons:

Run a scan from here on-line:

Download Avast Cleaner (off-line scanner) from here:

Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of
many

What weird message? Here's one "weird message" remover:

Line 412. AutoRun Eater - Can't find Recycler....

Can anyone please suggest how I can get rid of this problem?
I would appreciate any response.

Here are a few things to try for internet access:

Open Internet Options, Connections tab, click "Lan Settings" button,
deselect all.

Flush DNS

Click Start, Run, type CMD and click the [OK] button. Type each of the
following:

IPConfig /FlushDNS [Press Enter key]
ipconfig /release [Press Enter key]
ipconfig /renew [Press Enter key]
ipconfig /registerdns [Press Enter key]

NETSH

Click Start, Run, type CMD and click the [OK] button. Type the following:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter key

Restart the system

You can also try this software download from a working machine:

LSP-Fix

sometimes, its not an
infection that coz's
problems,

but it might be possible
that the problem is from
your own av's and perhaps
multiple firewalls that are
treating you like an infection.

my suggestion is to initiate
a clean boot, as a first
step.

One thing to try is to open a DOS box (command prompt) then key in ping
www.yahoo.com (or any internet address) if you get a reply then you may have
two or more intenet security programs blocking your browser traffic. You
would then need to uninstall them and only have one active. Norton is famous
for this all by itself, it locks down your PC so that even you can't access
it. I guess you it is highly unlikely to get a virus if you can't connect to
the internet.

Pardon me for sticking my nose in... but it occurs to me that may be the
easiest way (after a reinstall) is to just start the ISP's installation
program which should do the work of configuring TCP/IP and reconnecting you
very nicely as you have to have done it successfully at least once before,
didn't you?
