Virus or spoofing?

One of my friends has ATTs DSL service, along with an sbcglobal.net
email address. Recently, she's gotten several emails from people in
her contacts, who have been getting spam 'from' her. Her AV is current
& up to date & I have scanned with malwarebytes antimalware & have
found nothing.
I'd think ATT would tell her, if she's sending out a bunch of spam, as
Comcast has done to other people I know. Of course, nothing in outbox,
etc.
Any suggestions?

Which AV does she use? You should also run an anti root kit program like
http://public.avast.com/~gmerek/aswMBR.htm. I would also recommend
running iObit's Malware Fighter, http://www.iobit.com/malware-fighter.html.
