I have a 2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 processor, and it is maxed out as soon as I
start XP through Virutal PC on Vista Ultimate. How can I get XP to run
smoothly?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.

I have 1 GB, but it was at 50-60% use. I guess I can apportion more than 128
MB to the VPC.

I allocate 192MB to XP Pro within VPC, and it runs just fine. I have 2GB on
the host system though.
