virtual memory

linda

When I run a Norton AntiVirus scan, I get a message
stating my system is low on virtual memory and to increase
my virtual memory paging file. I have increased the
virtual memory from 382 (recommended) to 1024, but still
receive the message. What is my problem? Is it my system,
the Norton program or me?
(Windows 2000 pro 14.6 GB)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Usually occurs when the "Everyone" group permissions are removed from the
%systemdrive% Make sure that the System account (NT Authority) has full
control of the %systemdrive% and or the drive you're trying to put the
pagefile on. My Computer|Drive|File|Properties|Security|Permissions

The system account (nt authority) is the operating system's account and
needs to have full control of the drive(s) the pagefile exists on. The
system account is included in the "Everyone" group.
