Virtual memory will not hold my setting.

I am trying to increase the virtual memory settings to 800 (min) an 1000
(max). Yess I have hit the OK and Set and Apply buttons and turned off VM
and restarted and reset it to my settings. They seem to hold untill the PC
is rebooted and then get reset to the windows default (1.5 x the physical
memory) even though in the VM settings it still has 800 and 1000 listed. I
have deleted the pagefile also. Nothing seem to work. The strange thing is
this only happens on some PC's ( i work for a school district and we have @
1800 pc's). Any suggestions?

This behavior will happen on systems with certain versions of Norton
products installed, specifically Norton Antivirus 2004 and Norton
Corporate Antivirus 9.0

If you have either of these products installed go to www.symantec.com
and use the Search panel (top right) to locate the relevant Symantec
Knowledge Base article:
NAV2004: 2005123011260806
Corporate 9.0: 2004042913251448
(just copy and past the article number into the search box).

Good luck
