After loading several windows updates and rebooting, my windows 2000 gives an error message saying I am out of virtual memory and programs will not load. I have tryed various bypasses including booting in safe mode but I cannot get past the error message.
Any ideas??

You need to take a look at your Virtual Memory settings.

Locate this by
Right click My Computer, select properties
Advanced tab, Performance Options.

Make sure you have enough paging file size assigned equal to DOUBLE your total RAM capacity. This should provide sufficient VM. Also, make sure you have enough hard drive space to support your VM.

You may also want to upgrade your RAM so that you are not needing to use your Virtual Memory so much.

Unfortunately, I cannot get my start menu or anything else to come up-I just cycle from error message to sign on..every time I type in my password for administrator I get the error message of not enough virtual memory..when I click on OK it goes right back to sign on!!

Any suggestions on getting past this?

Thanks
