views not staying put

BorisS

I consistently use three open windows for OL'07 (Inbox, Tasks, Calendar)

Two issues with which I'm getting frustrated:

1) the navigation pane keeps popping back up when I reopen, even though I
cancel it in each view, each time
2) the to-do bar keeps reappearing on two of the views, even though I've
only wanted it to stay open on one (the calendar).

Any help as to how to solve this?

I would like to know the answer to this also. I am trying to get the task
list to come out above the to do list in the tasks nav. pane each time it
opens, but it won't stay that way!!!

both the nav pane and to-do bar are an all or nothing deal at start up - if
its off in one window, its off in all; on in one, on in all. I'm not sure
if any switches will start outlook without the nav pane, but if its off in
the last window closed, it should remain off.

Thanks very much for the reply. My question is a bit more specific. I do
not want to use the "to-do" list at all. I try to get tasks to appear above
it in the navigation pane, but every time I close outlook and re-open to-do
is on the top and is opened as the default. Any way to fix this?

Thx

open outlook. Just one window. Turn off the to-do (click the x in its upper
right corner). Close outlook. Check tasks manager to verify outlook closed.
Restart outlook. the to-do should be gone.

if outlook is still running in task manger, you need to figure out why.

Thanks DIane. There is no x in the upper right corner. I am in the tasks
window of Outlook 2007. In the navigation pane to-do list shows up as a
default. That is what I am trying to get rid of, as I use tasks, not to-do.
Have not been able to figure out a way to do this yet.

thx
