Viewing pictures in outlook 2003

How come my outlook 2003 cannot receive pictures embedded in my mail
body ? All the pictures are attached and so the mail body is blank and
only with words. But outlook 2000 seems not to have this problem. Pls
advise.

Because it's designed that way.

All the pictures are attached and so the mail body is blank and
only with words. But outlook 2000 seems not to have this problem.

Outlook 2000 in IMO mode shared a lot with Outlook Express and its behavior
was more in keeping with OE.

Anyway to view pictures in the mail body ? if this is the case how does
user going to know which pictures attached in the mail ?

No, if they are attachments. If they are embedded in the message, then they
should appear in the Reading Pane, but the sender must compose either a Rich
Text or HTML message and use Insert>Picture.
