View "stuck" in icon mode

I cannot get my "view" mode to keep from switching back to icons every time I
reopen a folder. I do the “Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder options/ Remember
each folders viewâ€, etc. and the view switches as it should to "details" or
whatever I specify. But the next time I open that same folder or any other
folder, the view is back to icons. I found a thread about this problem back
in September (link attached) where some ideas and possible explanations are
discussed that have to do the registry limits (?) but no solution.

This icon view is driving me nuts! Any advice? Thank you.

Try the fix at line #2 here:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
(Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000)

Note that it erases all the saved views, and also increases the Bags MRU size to 8000.

Thank you SOOO much! I can't tell yo how much that icon view was irritating
me - and best of all, the link you sent me to just changed my registry
automatically; I didn't get a long list of instructions to follow.

Thanks again.
