View Of My Network Places

I have a desktop and a laptop computer. The desktop runs on W XP Media
Edition and the laptop runs on W XP Home Edition.

When I open My Network Places on the desktop I get a screen that just
has column headings from left to right.

When I open My Network Places on the laptop I get a screen that has a
blue panel on the left side Saying Network Tasks, Other Places and
Details. to the right of the panel I have the columns with the
headings.

How do I change the view on the desktop so that it resembles the
laptop.

TIA

What if that blue panel is on the desktop? How to get rid of it from the
desktop?

Run the edit on Kelly's site:

Line 15: Remove Common Tasks from the Desktop

See the top of the page for info on running the edit.
