Video output is displayed upside down???

Dejola

I came home this evening and had, as usual, left my computer running
when I went out earlier. It had gone to sleep.
I hit enter key twice and it woke up as usual. But, strangely, my
Windows Login screen and later my entire desktop was displayed upside
down. If I wanted to move the cursor up I had to move my mouse down.
If I wanted to move it left I had to move my mouse right.

I solved the problem by using System Restore and restored it to a date
two days ago, but I am more than curious what could have caused this
upside down display situation.

Anybody got any idea?

Thanks so much.

Your video card driver/software may be able to rotate the screen - check its
advanced features.

The following may work: CTRL+ALT+Up arrow
or some similar key keyboard combination for some but not all video cards.

Some graphics cards also come a utility or an option to rotate your display.
Most likely to be found in the Display/Advanced option.
You may also be able to turn off Display rotation so the problem does not
happen again.

Click on Start/Control Panel/Display/Setting Tab, Advanced button or it
could be an
Icon in the control panel specifically for the Video Card you have.

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video
card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait
orientation. You (or someone else) accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and
some arrow key. Rotate it back using those keys.
