video insertion

i used to be able to insert a movie file into a slide but for some reason now
when i try to it freezes everything. i have tried everything moving the
video files closer to the powerpoint file. reinstalling office. cleaning up
old files. I am at a loss.

Put the PPT file and the video in a folder on your harddrive called C:\test.
Does it work then?
