video insert doen't play correctly

I am running PPT 2003 now on Windows 2000 Server. I
regularly insert a video in a slide. Windows Media Player
on this system is version 7.0. The file has a .wmv
extension. The problem is that some transitions on some
videos do not play correctly...example; I get some video
clips that freeze frame while the audio continues, some
transitions do not play correctly, etc. Could the problem
be the older version of media player or the type of file I
am running? Thanks for any advice.

PowerPoint doesn't use Windows Media Player, so that's not it. It could be
that transitions and videos are competing for resources on your system. See
