Video flicker with VX2235wm viewsonic monitor and Nvidia 6100

Ok I have a athlon dual core 4200+ and am getting a lot of flicker with my
wide screen monitor. I have asked this question in another group but can't
get an answer. It cleared up one morning, but then was back that night. It
only does it every few seconds as if the vertical sync controll has gone out
for just an instant. drawing half the screen on the wrong side of the
monitor. I does it the most when I am using the mouse, but will do it during
boot up as well. It doesn't happen under XP, I am dual booting both.

Anyone have a solution?

Robert Bullock laid this down on his screen :

Have you got the latest drivers for your nVidia 6100?

Yes I did that first thing. I ran the windows vista advisor and it said that
my system was ready to go with vista. I then looked at the closer look or
whatever it was called and it said that my monitor might need an updated
driver. I went to the viewsonic site and couldn't find drivers for the
vx2235wm specifically, but found one that said lcd for 64 bit os. I tried it
and it said it was the wrong driver and wouldn't run it. So I don't know
what is up with it.
