Video effects one-clik shortcuts??

Is there a way to apply a video effect to all clips on the storyboard
at once....or am i stuck with dragging it to each clip?

Yes

Select all the clips in the timeline/storyboard by clicking on one of the
clip and then pressing Ctrl-A. Now right click on the desired effect such as
Fade and select "Add to Storyboard/Timeline".

HELP! I tried this but as soon as I right click on a video effect, the
pictures become unselected and when I select "add to storyboard" nothing
happens. I'm making a slideshow and it takes forever to add the effects. Is
there anything else I should try? Thanks.
