Video clips not playing

Dear all

I am a fairly new user of PowerPoint and am trying to play a video clip on a
sideshow, however, I can't get it to work. When you run the slide show, the
clip plays on the laptop but doesn't project onto the screen via the LCD.

If you play the clip individually, not through Powerpoint, it shows fine.

Is there a setting somewhere in PowerPoint I have missed because I know the
clip works fine otherwise.

Any urgent help would be appreciated.

Take a look at your Function Keys. Find the one with the screen icon on it
(F7? - it seems to vary).

Now, hold down Fn + "F7". Wait a moment? Did it work? If not, repeat...

If you repeat it, you'll end up with both the laptop and the screen...

When I toggle again to show laptop and screen, the video clips don't work.
It's just the video clip bit that's black, not the whole of the sode. THey
will only work if I view on the screen only, not the laptop too.

Reading through other posts on this Forum, other people have had the same
problem but nobody seems to know why you can't view the laptop and screen
simultaneously when using video clips.
