Video clips have Red X's

My son made video clips from a digital camera & plays it on his computer
using Windows Movie Maker. The same CD-R will not play on my computer using
Windows movie maker which was downloaded with SP-2.
In the Storyboard line all boxes have a big Red X in them. Anybody have an
idea of my problem or is more information required?

Sounds like your son gave you the Movie Maker project file rather than a
saved movie file.
Have him save the movie and send that to you instead of the Movie Maker
project.

File > Save Movie File
or
Save to My Computer in the Task menu at the left.

Al Stu, thank you for the reply. Unfortuneatley the CD-R
which will not play on my computer is the same physical
CD-R which I played on my sons computer.
Any other ideas? Thanks.

You seem to have mis-understood the answer.

Yes, the same disc will play on your son's computer because
the video files are present on his computer.

However, when the disc is played on your computer, the
files are MISSING on YOUR computer, so it shows the
red Xes.

Al Stu is suggesting that the movie was not saved in a way
that made it self-contained (so it could be played on another
computer like yours).
