I have a desktop with ppt 2003 and have made a presentation with at
video clip that works perfectly. The problem is that I want to run it
from a notebook computer with ppt 2000.
It keeps coming up with the message: "cannot find vids:mjpg
decompressor" The sound is there but no picture.
Does anyone have a clue about what is going on. I have tried running
it with ppt viewer 2003 with the same result.
thanks,
Al

Check your exporting. I got in trouble with this comparing powerpoint 2000
and 97. You cannot just go to the folders and copy the file as I tried to do
before a big conference. Go to file and you will find prepare CD. Use this
to prepare your file. Hopefully this helps. Sandie

Where did the video come from? When it was created it was compressed with a
specific codec (coder-decoder) that is installed on your desktop, but is not
installed on your laptop. You need to identify what codec was used and then get
that codec installed on the laptop, or you need to convert the video to a
commonly available codec.

Thanks for the responses. I actually found Sonia's suggestion to
rename the .avi to .mpg and that worked.
