"video cature device was not detected"

I have a problem that I thought someone might be able to
help me with.The above message was displayed when
attempting to capture video to Movie Maker via fire-
wire.Fire wire card works ok as I use another device with
it and it's fine.Tried another fire-wire cable to no
avail. Windows XP is up-to-date.Sony MiniDV camcorder
Model DCR-TRV8E is not shown in Windows XP device
manager.Searched Sony & Microsoft web sites for driver
but unable to locate any.

Did you put your camera into vcr mode?
