Video Capture Device Not Detected

Dave

I receive this error message when I click capture from
video device. I have successfully used this connection
with Click to DVD. I am connecting an analog Sony TRV-87
Handy Cam. I read that I should open the record box to
change the device, but it's not on my file menu.

I have the same prob as you Dave. I use a Sony Handycam Video 8 (analogue). In the new WMovMaker (2) there is only the capture video Task button to use, no way I can see to 'get at'anything. Pressing this button gives box that states capture device uninstalled/turned off/etc. Useless. The earlier MMM had at least some control options.
This is on new Sony Vaio pCV RS 430G that has some Sony media programs some of which (Giga) does copy video from input at front or rear via (for analogue) RCA simple connectors. The program saves in huhe files that are useless to email like I want to do. AND it uses .clf files which the MMM2 will nor recognise! Brill. Well done Sony.
If you get an anwer Ill be grateful to share it with you and vise versa.
