Very Urgent Problem With Recovering a Document

Invinci

I was finishing an essay on Word 2007. Just a few days ago we purchased a new
desktop, so the essay was started on the old computer but finished on the new
one, which was fine I would think. I saved this document at school and put it
into a "digital drop box" on blackboard.com so I could work on it at school
but still open it at home. So I then opened that file I digitally dropped off
and spent quite a lot of effort on finishing it. I then pressed the save (I
think I should have pressed save as but doesn't 2007 tell you to save as even
if you click save?). So, thinking the document was saved I closed the word
window, went back to blackboard.com to put the finished file so I could put
it in the drop box again in order to print it out a school but the file
wasn't there, I searched in every nook of this new computer (which shouldn't
be a lot because it is new) but still couldn't find the essay.

Please if you need any additional clarification on this issue or have
possible solutions do not hesitate to post.
THANK YOU!

Never, never, never, open files from the internet (or e-mail) directly -
always copy them to your hard drive first. Word copies them to a temporary
location on your computer, and opens them from there - and saves them back
to there. Depending on what you have done since, you may or may not still
have a copy - it will, I think, be somewhere in your Temporary Internet
Files folder (or whatever it is called on whatever version of Windows you
have), but it may not be easy to find even if it does still exist.

It should be saved somewhere in a temporary internet file. Try opening
another file from the internet, note the filename, and do a search for
it on your computer to find where your temporary internet folder is.
