In my xp notebook (graphics intel gma 3100) menu options in some progs are
placed on white background instead of normal system grey and surrounded by
grey rim only. when I point this menu items all background becomes white.
It is strange. Problem is only with some apps. When these problematic apps
are enlarged to full screen problem disappears. what is it ?

Thanks in advance

Contact the maker(s) of this apparently top secret applications and ask
them. I'm afraid that no one here can help if you don't provide at least
a modicum of pertinent information.

Many programs like firefox, opera browser, IE, system windows display
normally.
Some progs like IrfanView, proceXP, notepad (system app) have this effect
so this is not a problem o app vendoe (systemic notepad).

It look like that (link to screenshot below)

You'd have saved a lot of time if you had included that information to
start with.

What happens when you install (or re-install) the most current,
Vista-specific video drivers for your computer's video adapter? Obtain
these only from the manufacturer of your specific video adapter.

What are the computer's hardware specifications? It may be that
you're trying to use video settings that the computer cannot ready
support due to a deficiency of RAN and/or dedicated video memory.

Oops! That should have read "... WinXP-specific video...."
