Very slow logon of server just added to domain

O

Owen Squire

I inherited two win2k servers that were not part of my
domain. I have joined them successfully to the domain;
however, logon to a domain account takes up to 30 min. I
have checked DNS etc. Logon eventually occurs but very slowly.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I would suggest to make sure that any external DNS addresses are removed
from the IP properties of your DCs and clients as well. That error is
indicative of using a DNS server that does not host the AD zone name. You
will experience numerous other problems as well if there are ISP's DNS or
your router as a DNS server in your properties, where the long logon time
symptom would be minor in comparison.
