Very high memory usage with 4 linked animated slides ????

Hello,

could you please help me ??? I tried the ppt file with PowerPoint 2003 and
2007 SP1 and I have exactly the same problem :

When I'm playing with my 4 slides, each click on a link to opens one of the
other 3 slides seems. It works but the memory usage is amazing then the PC is
so slow. It's like if PowerPoint is opening a new file in memory ! If I press
ESC it does back like if you do back in Internet Explorer.

How can I fix that please ??? I just need to loop in my 4 slides but I want
to do it without having 40MB loaded by slide at each click !!! I can't close
the ppt file every 5 minutes !

THANKS YOU for your help !

Hi Lucy thanks for your help.

There is 4 slides with a background image and on the top there are ~6
smaller icons moving. On each slide I made 3 links to navigate to the 3 other
slides. The links target are Cutom's show (from 1 to 4) (1 for each slide to
start over the anims).

It's working fine but when I click on a link I have Powerpoint is opening
the right slide but it's like if he create the linked slide instead of
opening the first one again, for example. The result is that the pc's memory
is growing very fast. Then it begins to swap and to be slow. The only
solution is to kill the process and start over. unfortunatly I need this
powerpoint for an expo and they will not restart it every 5 minutes ! :-/

Is there a way to tell powerpoint to only link a slide ? I made an simple
hyperlinks but the objects are duplicated in the memory... !

THANKS

Ok the problem do not append when I remove the checkbox for the links called
"Show and goes back". The problem is I remove this option is that the custom
anims doesn't start from the beginning when I click on a link (to a custom
show for each slide).
For example :

I load the ppt, slide 1 is animated... I click the link to go to the 2nd
slide then I click on the link to go bak to the first slide and the animation
is already over. I need to have them in loop in each slide...

Hi

I'm a bit confused about what you are trying to achieve. If you only have 4
slides why do you need to link them as custom shows? You could just
hyperlink straight to the slide. If you want to repeat the animation, insert
a blank slide with 0 second transition before the animated slide and link to
it instead.

I'm not sure if that will help with the memory issue you are having but it
would be worth a look.

Oh and have a look at this too:
