VERIZON DSL CONNECTIVITY PROBLEM

I JUST GOT VERIZON DSL AND I NOTICED THAT MY INTERNET
EXPLORER 6.0 WITH XP DOES NOT DETECT MY DSL CONNECTION AT
ALL TIMES.SOMETIMES I GET A WINDOWS POP UP PROMTING ME TO
RE-TRY TO CONNECT OR WORK OF LINE.AFTER PRESSING RETRY
CONNECTION IS RE ESTABLISHED.

I have Verizon also, the only time I get that message is
when something else is hogging up the bandwidth, like AOL
running in the background. See what else could be using
the bandwidth.
