Verdana default font problem in Preview

A

Al Krismer

Hello,

I changed my default fault to Verdana, but everything I
have typed since the change appears as New Times Roman in
the Preview mode.

What did I do wrong?

You must actually assign a font to your text, the default font only applies to how you see the text
while in Normal / Design view.

And this is without a doubt the absolute dumbest feature of FP. Why it
has survived this long is an absolute mystery to me.

It just needs to better explained.

Thomas -

Perhaps I'm missing the point (it wouldn't be the first time), but can
you explain what earthly usefulness it serves?

No you are not missing the point. I think the true purpose needs to be explained. But one benefit is
to set the default font to one that you will never use, then you will always know if you missed
assigning a font to some text.
