Hi, I am new to this forum, and need help with the issues I am facing with my computer.

I have windows 7 installed recently, with quad core and 3 gb of ram, the problem is my system keeps getting blue screen of death and restarting while playing games or apps just crashing and stuff like tht, went to a lot of forums, then came here and read tht It might have something to do with vcore voltage.

Installed CPUZ, went to computer>sensor and there in Voltage Values my cpu core is shown as 1.12v.

Also ran primo95 and it gives this error
" FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file."
in minutes of me running this app, in all the cores.

Can someone please please help me.

Thank you.

One more thing, For the past 4 years I have to replace a part or the whole computer cause of it blowing up or something or other, if that does not happen this year I would be eternally great full (or until I am rich enough that I don't give a sh*t about my computer blowing up).

welcome to PCR

What quadcore??

What motherbard??

Turn off auto-restart so you can "see" what the BSOD error is.

Crashing in games can be a sign, but not always, of an overheating problem, usually graphics card related.

Are your drivers up-to-date?

so, what did the stress.txt file say? ;)

Ok so, I have Intel core 2 quad Q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz

The video card I am using is GeForce 8600 gt

My motherboard is Asus P5n-d

I don't always crash in games, sometimes when watching a movie.

I dl the latest drivers from the net for my video card and motherboard.

And stress.txt file is a readme file with FAQ and it says this
"
If you are not overclocking, the most likely cause is an overheating CPU
or memory DIMMs that are not quite up to spec.Another possibility is
you might need a better power supply. Try running MotherBoard monitor
and browse the forums above to see if your CPU is running too hot."

And how do I turn off Auto-restart.

To disable automatic rebooting:

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Advanced tab.

3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

My gut reaction on overheating needs investigating ... open the case up and check the fans are dust free and working. http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-029426.htm
