VB Error on Save

I'm getting the following error on save of a particular spreadsheet, works
fine on other PC's, not profile related.

I initially get a Microsoft Visual Basic error window popping up on my
screen: "System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Then you press OK on the
error message twice then a Microsoft Excel error window appears : "Document
not saved"

Using Excel 2000 / Windows 2000 SP4

Sounds like a file corruption in the VBA area. Try saving as HTML file,
loading the html and then saving as normal Excel workbook.

the spreadsheet works fine on other PC's so that would eliminate the file
being at fault

Hmm. Try emptying your temp folder then (start, run, %temp% gets you there
quickly)

no change i'm afraid, have searched technet and google, no possible
assistance found, only appears to affect the one file, but the file works
fine on other machines and cannot find any difference between the two, have
re-installed excel and re-registered it, opened in safe mode also.

What happens if the file is exported as web page (file, save as, web page),
closed and opened the webpage and save-as normal workbook?

Unable to save as a web page as it contains protected sheets which i am
unable to unprotect,

Msg Box : A sheet in the workbook you are trying to save is password
protected. Password protected sheets cannot be saved in the HTML file format.
To save this file in HTML, you must first remove the password.

same msg box appears on a working machine, so don't think this is an issue.

Thanks for that, but it's not necessary as it works on other machines, so as
a workaround he can access that way, just was wondering if there was any
resolution to it which would save me reformatting his PC
