Value required - custom error message

Hi

Is there a way to create a custom error message for when you require a value but don't need a formula? I'd like something a little friendlier than "A field on this form is required." Or, is there a way to create a validation formula so that it just checks if data exists so I can use that message

Yes, the Validation tab on the control that displays your field will allow you to do both.
