V4 Windows update not Authenticode signed????

When attempting to use Windows Update I am told that I
need to update to latest version. When I click 'Update Now'
I receive a security warning: " Do you want to install and
run
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/CAB/x86/unicode/iuetl
..CAB?37865.6889564815. The publisher cannot be determined
due to the problems below: Authenticode Signature no
found."

I find it hard to beleive that a true MS update would not
be signed. Anyone else received this message?

Given all the recent virus and worm activity I will not
install until I can get a signed update.

I too am getting that same messege. For the very same
reasons you state, it makes the WU site useless to me.
WTF is going on?
