Not sure if this is why I'm constantly waiting waiting waiting. Removed it
and let it re-detect, but never seems to get unique IRQ. If not the same as
the Display (S540-agp) then the same as the sound-card or primary ide or
apci or...
I've disabled the COM ports in the bios, as well as in windows (XP Home), so
there are unused IRQ's, and Windows says "No Conflict" and when I try to set
resources manually I get "resources cannot be changed" (actually the check
box is disabled).
I've also pulled the modem, booted, shut down, replaced modem (in same slot
and in alternate slot) but still the same thing. The IRQ does change, (10,
11, 9) but always shared with another component.
What am I missing? Please Don't tell me to use install program for modem, I
don't have it, and it is an OEM Dell 3com/USrobotics voice modem and you
know the story on OEM ("Please contact you OEM vendor for software updates")
