Using pictures as backgrounds and color schemes

Here's what I did:

1. Used the clouds template.
2. In Normal view, changed the color scheme.
3. Still in Normal view, decided to use a different picture
(Format|Background|Picture tab). All is fine.

Same process, but rather than in Normal view, I did it on the Slide Master,
and the color scheme background color remains in effect, even on the new
picture (so the picture has like a hazy blue/purple/whatever color over it).
What's up with that? _c

IIRC, there are, like, 4 templates that this happens with, and I believe it
(the "color wash" feature) was actually by design.

If you want your image not to have that color wash, choose a different
template to start from. The templates that don't already have images in
their backgrounds are pretty sure bets not to display this feature.
