Using Outlook with both Vista and XP

I'm apparently not very computer literate so I'm hoping someone out there
can help (in laymans terms).
I've attempted to load an older version of Outlook onto my new laptop which
is running Vista. This same version of Outlook is currently loaded on my
desktop which is running XP.

I have input all of my ISP account info. correctly and have received some
of the messages sent to (and from) this email account. However, whenever I
have Outlook opened on my laptop in efforts to send, receive, or reply to
mail (that I didn't have time to on my desktop), I frequently get the
following message even if I'm not working with email:

"Unable to update public free/busy data. An error occurred while

attempting to open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find the

WAB DLL."

Can someone please advise as to how I can eliminate this message? It seems
to have something to do with the address book and none of my contacts are
available on my laptop since installing Outlook. Also, I cannot access the
address book on my laptop. Upon ocassion, it has locked up my laptop when
trying to access the address book (yes, i know, don't do that then)...but
I'd love to be able to solve this problem so that I can access my email
account from both my desktop and laptop.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreicated!!! I'd love to simply be
able to use my email address everywhere without having an "online email
account" only for my laptop (such as hotmail or gmail).
Thanks, in advance, for any assistance!

Marcy

It is unlikely that an 'old' version of Outlook will work properly on Vista(
as last post indicates)
Why not setup your email, using your existing account details, on whatever
mail reader (WM, Firefox or whatever) you have on the Vista laptop
I have my emails setup on a Vista PC, XP laptop, and Linux PC and use either
to access my email. On the XP & Linux I leave the emails on server and delete
them on the Vista PC, when I have finished with them.
There is no need to get an additional account.

ONCE YOU HAVE UPGRADE TO VISTA YOU MUST UPGRADE IT ALL
So try to do that. Good luck
