Using On_screen keyboard to logon

Under Windows 2000 it was possible to set the On-Screen keyboard to appear
with the Windows Logon screen via the Utility Manager so that you could use
it to perform the logon. This option is not available in XP Pro.

Can anyone advise why this was removed and how I can achieve the same
result. We are wanting to use the computer without any kind of keyboard, so
using Windows+U to bring up the Utility Manager at Logon time is not an
option.

Thanks.

Following is the path of On Screen Keyboard's application file.

%SystemRoot%\system32\osk.exe

What you can do is to add a Schedule of this program to run at "System
Startup" through Task Scheduler in System Tools or you can use third party
Startup Managers to add this program to run at Windows Startup.

Hope this idea helps you, let us know!

We tried what you suggested and although the OSK process starts and remains
running, the actual on-screen keyboard is not visible. I have been told that
the login desktop is actually separate from the user desktop - might this be
the problem?
