Using OL 2002 away from home/business

I recently went out of state - when i used OL I could receive my mail, but
could not send - my ISP said they could not identify the problem - when I
came back home the problem went away and I can send and receive - then I went
to a friends house and he has the same ISP - but my problem returned.

What settings must change for me to be able to SEND email when away from
home or business?

If you dial DIRECTLY into YOUR ISP, there should be no changes necessary.
If you use a DIFFERENT ISP when out of state, you'll need to change the
Outgoing (SMTP) server name and settings to match those of the different
ISP. Most ISPs these days will not allow you to use any SMTP server but the
one they own as an anti-Spam measure.
