Using HP PhotoSmart PSC 2510 all in one printer with Outlook 2003?

Hello,

I just switched to Office Pro 2003 and I would like to send mails to fax
recepients as well as SMTP ones.

Can I point to the PSC 2510 fax (the telephone cable is connected there)
instead of the MS Fax device?

I hope I'm clear in stating my problem otherwise, feel free to ask for
clarifications.

Thxs

I doubt it. Windows XP Fax can only use an analog fax modem that is on the
Windows XP HCL list. Does that modem (not the Printer) appear in Device
Manager?

HP products are usually on the HCL but I didn't check this one. Do you
have a URL for the HCL?

The only recognized modem is the integrated Lucent Win Modem but I have
3 other devices:
- Dot4HPZ12
- hp PSC 2500 series (DOT4)
- Dot4Print HPZ12
- hp PSC 2500 series (DOT4PRT)
- Dot4USB HPZ12
- hp PSC 2500 series (DOT4USB)
the last one seems to be a virtual device designed to receive scanning
results

Does this help?

Yes. It means you can't use the modem in your fax printer for faxing.

No. It has to be a compatible analog fax modem attached to the motherboard
of your computer.

Thanks anyway for your precious help and explanation.

You mean it has to be a MAPI device to make it possible?
