using dpinst.exe to preinstall driverpackages on xp embedded

What is the prerequisites for using dpinst.exe to preinstall driver packages
to the driver store. Im using a HP T5720 running XP embedded. When I plugin a
usb-printer, after I have preinstalled the drivers into the driverstore, it
still asks for the drivers from the CD.
