Using a combobox with vb

Okay, I'm using access 2003.

I want to use a combo box to select from a table, then grab the selection to
run a qry in order to get a value from a corresponding table. What I would
like is to get the selection from the combo box into a vb variable. I'm sure
this is somehow easy but I have no idea how to do it.
