user's accounts

I have wiped & reloaded windows XP Pro.Microsoft says to make all user's
exept for one "restricted" but when I do that myself & my Brother can't play
any online games (unless we are administraitor's) and my internet keyboard
says "registry not found" so we can't use it's special keys. Now I read
something about "privlaged user's" but I can't find that in the user's
section just admin's & restricted accounts. So I would like to know how we can
still play our games online & us the keyboard but still have the (online)
security of the restricted accounts like microsoft suggested we use.
Thank you for your time on this matter.

There are all sorts of possibilities from firewall settings to possible
software that might have been installed for the purpose of playing such
games.

If you had to install software for the purpose of playing online games, see
below:

Most applications weren't designed for this type of multi-user environment.
Such applications need to be installed in each specific user's account to
whom you wish to grant access.

First, be sure the account to which you wish to grant access is set to
administrator and not limited. Install the applications to the same folder
in which it was originally installed. This will look the same as one
install on your hard drive but create the pointers necessary for this user
to have access to the application.

Once the installation is complete, you can return the account to its limited
status if that is what you want and the user should still have access.

If you didn't have to install any special software or if the above doesn't
work, please take this question to the windowsxp.games newsgroup.

Thank you for responding so fast. I have tried to install my key board
program like you mentioned but it does not ask me for the choice of file to
put it in. It did install (at the time I was on my desktop as an
administrator) but when I put my desktop back to limited ( after rebooting
like the program asked) it still said "Error...registry not found". I am
using XP Pro.on a 1.5 year old computer with service pack 2 so everything is
fairly new. I am trying the internet keyboard program before the game because
the game is 6 disc's.
Once again thank you for your time.

It sounds as though the problem is with the software installer or the
software itself. In either case, you would need to check with the
appropriate tech support, whoever supplied the software or the game's
manufacturer.
