User profile and domain migration

Our co. is migrating our users WinXP machine from WinNT to Wn2k AD. Our users
have their profiles stored on the local XP machines. When we change domains
to tWin2k AD whats the best way to take their profile on the machine from the
WinNT to Win2K AD domain. ie. Outlook, Office settings......desktop, my
docs......etc...

Anyone done this before..........

We solve this by (in the registry) changing the profile path for
the new user to point to the old user's profile folder (the user
needs to log on at least once first).

If the user is not a local admin, you might need to to something on the
permission side. Use tip 4631 and 2240 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
http://www.jsiinc.com as a guide.
