User name and password requested when accessing network share in XP

Problem
I am asked for a user name and password when accessing a network share on
XPP. How do I stop being asked.
Backround
I have up graded to XP professional so that I can use the user-specific
folder sharing on a peer to peer network. I have disabled simple sharing and
set up a user account on the main PC which exectly matches the user account
on the client PC. Both are admin type for the time being. Guest account is
off as is forceguest. When I try to connect from the client PC (XPH) I am
asked for a user name and password. When I enter it (matching the client
logon user name and password) I connect fine and subsequent requests do not
require re-entry (in the short term).
I want to do unattended backups from the client to this folder at night. I
therefore do not want the main PC to request the user name and password. How
can I prevent being asked? By the way, my Win 98SE client PC can connect to
this folder without intervention of user name and password. I am using
passworded log-on on all the PC's when I boot up.

Any advice gratefully received!

Make sure that the user account names and passwords on both computers
match exactly. Check for leading, embedded, or trailing blanks.

If that doesn't solve the problem, remove any saved network passwords
on the XP Home computer:

1. Go to Control Panel | User Accounts.
2. Click your account.
3. Click "Manage my network passwords".
4. Click and remove passwords for the XP Pro computer, as appropriate.

Yeh, thanks. You are right. The names did not match. But the reason is
curious
I set up a new account on the client with the correct name and password. I
had the problem noted. When I checked in Users in control panel all was
well. It was not until I checked the evnt viewer on the main PC that I saw
that it was regsitering a failed conncetion with a differnt name. I then
checked with passwords2 on the client to find that the name I had entered
was the Full Name but the actual user name was different. It seemed to have
used a previous user name.
I noticed this again when I attempted to use a duplicate name. It simply
added _2 after the name.
What are the rules on logon without passwords. Will that stop network
connections?
Thanks for all your help
