User logon required

This week my XP Home has started making me select a user during startup -
didn't before. Plus there is only one option - OWNER

A read a similar post that had the following reply:

""Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Check the box "Users
must enter a username........" Then highlight the account you want
automatically logged on. Uncheck the box and click Apply. You'll be
prompted for the password for that account. If there is none, just leave it
blank. OK your way out. ""

I've never checked into that control before but I notice I have 3 accounts
listed:
Administrator - Group Administrators
ASPNET - Group Users
Owner - Group Administrators

So 2 questions: If I follow the above recommendation can I get the system
to boot directly to Owner? And what is the ASPNET account?

To log on automatically with the Owner account, do the following:

Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
In the box that pops up, replace Administrator in the "User Name"
box with Owner. Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if your account does
not have a password.
Click OK twice and reboot to see if you get the desired results.

The ASPNET account is created when you install the .NET
framework. Here's an article with more info:
