uSER LOGIN PASSWORD ISSUE

I have an XP system with only one user logon. I recently decided to password
protect it to keep my kids off this particular system. When setting up the
pass word, it accepted a 14 character pw. I rebooted, my single user login
comes up, but the password is only 12 characters. Now I can't get on the
computer. What do I do?? Thanks

Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ . There you will find
zip files that will let you create boot floppy disks or bootable CDs
that will enable you to reset any system password on an NT class
operating system (Win2000, XP and Vista are all NT class operating system).

you are comfortable this is a safe site? It has worked for you? Thanks for
responding.

Thank you again for your assistance. Fortunately for me, one of the tech guys
I work with was able to go into safe mode, access the admin login and change
the user log in password. Lesson learned - never create a user login PW that
exceeds more than 12 characters, even though that field will allow you to.
Typical MS!!
