user.exe error

Marc

My Internet explorer crashes frequently and displays:
Explorer has caused an error in user.exe
The screen will flash back to my desktop and the icons
will disappear from my toolbar. You can restart Explorer
and it might do it again immediately or it may take
several minutes to occur again. Sometimes it will do it
several times in succession. I can restart the computer
and the icons return to the toolbar, but Explorer is still
subject to crash. It will occasionally display: Explorer
has caused an error in crypt32.dll
I run Windows ME with 4 different user profiles. It
occurrs more often in the other profiles than in mine.
Any suggestions?

Marc,
There's a possibility that this is being caused by a third-party program
(adware, spyware, parasite)

Download, install, *update* and run one or both of these programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red-others are
optional.)

Additional information, including security tips at:

There are other possible causes for the USER.EXE errors, such as outdated
video drivers, a corrupted cache or a conflict with another program.
