USER DESIGNED TEMPLATES DON'T OPEN

I have used Excel 2007, Trial, to create a template. I saved it now I can't
open it. It was saved as a Excel Template with the extension xltx.

The error I get is that it is:

"Excel cannot open the file 'Purchase Order.xltx' because the file format or
file extension is not valid."

This has happed many times even when starting from scratch.

The same thing happens to me, but no one has responded to my complaint. I am
using macros so the template is a *.xltm template. Is your application
password protected?

See related post: Corrupt .xltm in Excel General Questions.

I haven't found a solution BUT to reenable the file, you can rename the
excel file extension from *.xltm to *.xlt, using explorer. Open in 2007 and
voila, the file is back (ignore error messages).
