User and Group Levels in Access Workgroup

I have a database that I have secured with a workgroup file. I have
my list of users and their passwords all set up.

I created a group called Vehicles and designated the appropriate users
to that group. I set all the permissions on that group to all the
appropriate tables and forms that they are okay to access.

But, nothing I set seems to take any effect on the users I have set in
this group. But if I go into their individual user and set the
permissions they can access them.

What am I doing wrong. I thought the point of the group was to beable
to set the permissions once and not have to do it individually for
each user. So time comsuming.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Firstly, are all your users pointing to the same workgroup?

Secondly, once you assigned the permissions, did you copy the program file
to each user's computer?

Simply assigning the permissions from your computer is not enough.
Especially if you assign permissions to forms. That's because form
permissions are saved within the program file.

In other words, as soon as you change a form/report/query permission. You
need to re-deploy the application to your users. Permissions don't gets
stored on the backend. Assuming you have a frontend-backend set-up.

Hope this helps.

Each user has a shortcut that opens the database with the correct
workgroup file. That part isn't the problem. They are getting the
exact same screens that I do on my computer. This is also stored on a
shared network. I only have to update the front end they access with
the short I have given them. That parts works correctly.

My question is this: Why are the group settings that I applied not
working for the users in that group. They only work if I apply
settings to each individual user.
